At Spot My Guru (by Enerzium Labs), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data across both Android and iOS platforms.

1. Information Collection and Use

We collect specific data to provide our hyper-local tutoring connection service and map education demand:

  • Authentication: We use your Phone Number to verify your identity via OTP (Firebase Authentication).

  • User Profile: Name, email, and professional details you voluntarily provide to set up your Student or Guru profile.

  • Location Data: We collect precise or approximate device location (with your permission) or manually entered location to show nearby tutors.

  • Search & Usage Data: We log your search queries, category interests, and interactions within the app to improve our matching algorithms and identify local educational supply gaps.

  • Push Notifications: We may send push notifications to inform users about updates, activity, or important information. You can control notification permissions through your device settings.

2. Data Utilization, B2B Insights & Lead Generation

We are committed to keeping the core app free for our community. To sustain this, we utilize app data in the following ways:

  • Market Intelligence (Aggregate Data): We aggregate and anonymize search patterns, location data, and supply gaps to generate market intelligence reports for educational institutions and coaching centers. This aggregate data does not contain your Personal Identifiable Information (PII).

  • Lead Generation: If you explicitly opt-in or request to be connected with a specific coaching center or educational brand, we will share your provided contact details with that specific entity to fulfill your request.

  • Third-Party Tracking: We do not sell your personal data to ad brokers or use it for cross-app advertisement tracking.

3. Third-Party Handoffs (WhatsApp)

Spot My Guru acts as a discovery platform. When you choose to connect with a tutor by tapping "Chat on WhatsApp", you are leaving our platform. We do not monitor, store, or control the messages exchanged on third-party applications, and we are not liable for interactions that occur outside of the Spot My Guru app.

4. AI and Data Processing

If the app utilizes AI-driven features to assist in tutor matching or content recommendations, such processing is performed securely. Your personal identifiers are not used to train global AI models without your explicit, separate consent.

5. Data Retention and Security

Your data is stored using industry-standard encryption provided by Google Cloud/Firebase. We retain your personal information only as long as your account is active.

6. Mandatory Account Deletion (User Control)

In compliance with Apple and Google policies, users have full control over their data:

  • In-App Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data permanently by going to the Settings/Account tab and selecting "Delete Account" within the app.

  • Web/Email Request: You may also request deletion by emailing hello@enerzium.ai from your registered email address, including your registered WhatsApp number.

  • Result of Deletion: Once confirmed, your phone number, profile, connections, and search history will be instantly purged from our active servers, except where temporary retention is required by law.

7. Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13. If we discover such data has been collected without verifiable parental consent, it is deleted immediately.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
